You have to keep it tuned up and ticking over, or when you really need it, it won't start! I've been having some difficulties myself recently too, but the only answer is to keep at it - do exercises, morning pages (see Dorothea Brande's 'Becoming a Writer' for explanation if you need to) and write your blog!
